Tan Twan Eng's Garden of Evening Mists features in a few “best/favourite books/novels of 2012” lists. Here is one of them.
Perhaps my favourite book of 2012, this multilayered narrative is as much about memory and storytelling as it is about tea gardens, tattooing, Zen practice, and the horrors of war.
